New Accurate Mobile, Tablet and Desktop Targeting

New Accurate Mobile, Tablet and Desktop Targeting

ab_testing_software

We updated the targeting options for mobile, tablet and desktop clients. The new method compliments the original user-agent targeting in a way we are now checking on CDN-level if the tested visitor is on mobile, tablet or desktop. The list we use is coming from our CDN provider Akamai and this improvement does not come with any server side checks so no speed reductions in displaying the content.

In the goal or audience setup you will find this new feature under systems and is available on all plans. The lists of devices that are used is maintained frequently by Amazon for all their clients. So you never have to update this setting.

This feature will benefit you by:

  • Avoiding complicated user-agent setups
  • Splitting up tests for mobile, desktop and tablets in all plans

We already have the mobile version of the visual editor and this feature is just an addition to the growing demand for mobile site A/B testing.
