Beyond the Home Page

With the rapid increase of online searches, social networks and blogs, RSS homepages are becoming less and less important than they used to be. The use of these tools means that a majority of consumers are bypassing the homepage entirely and are delving more on the most important pages of your website. Home pages are no longer the most significant or the most visited page of the website.

In a podcast by Bobby Hewitt, the CEO and conversion marketing expert of Creative Thirst, he talked about how to put more work on other more important pages, aside from the homepage. Hewitt explains how this betterment can improve user engagement for your website, which of them helps in increasing marketing and conversion rate optimization.

Beyond The Home Page

Identifying the Important Pages

You might think that the homepage is the most important part of your website, but think again. According to Bobby, the homepage should not draw too much attention. Instead, you should focus on the other important parts. Nowadays, when visitors open your website, they want to see a lot more than just a homepage. They want to read product descriptions and instructions. Every business owner need to put a huge effort in order to improve their conversion rate.

The website that represents your business is a collection of more than one page, which needs to represent your product or service. This representation should not only be found on your homepage, but on every page associated with your website. You can use the following:

  • Images
  • Text
  • Videos of people using your product

We are not saying that the home page is not important. It should be a gateway that leads to all the other pages. Although, it depends on how big your business is, you can create hundreds and hundreds of pages, and still keep your customers updated. This also ensures that you cast a wide net to reel the maximum amount of visitors for your website.

Importance of Webpages

All pages on your website are very important because they can really increase the number of your customers. Make sure you include landing pages, detail pages, etc. Every page should be unique and different. It doesn’t matter if your business is big or small, you must create a proper website for it and provide information and details about your products or services. Your website should also be friendly enough to invite visitors and potential customers. As Peter Hearn says in his article – Website – Its Importance for Business,

In today’s time of internet popularity and globalization, a web page or website is a dynamic tool in the market… Competition has never been fiercer… A website and a good website design combined with marketing and search engine optimization activities is playing an increasingly crucial role in helping businesses and individuals achieve their objectives

If it is necessary, you should make some changes and stop putting your focus only on the homepage of your website. Hire a professional designer who will be able to create a persuasive website to push the users a little. This is why every page on your website needs to have strong content that invites and persuades people to explore your website more. When a website is combined with good design and persuasion, it can definitely increase the chances of achieving your objectives.

Today, websites are considered the main tool in the marketing strategy and their popularity is increasing each day. It is fast and an easy tool to use, because it provides all the needed information and brings them closer to your clients.
