Details Make Perfection
In a recent webinar, Peep Laja of ConversionXL discussed how to build websites that sell. When you are building a new website besides the design you need to pay attention to several other details. People are used to some things when it comes to the website interface. For example, contact details are always on the last tab on the horizontal menu. So, when you are building a new website you need to keep it in the way people are used to it. Don’t try to change the interface, people are used to something, don’t try to make them learn something new.
Visual Hierarchy
If you are selling a product or service, try to make the picture or the letters of that product bigger. Not everything about your website is equal. Some things are more important, and some things are less important. Also, if you have a product that you want to sell, a product that you want to promote, or a product with a discount, make the pictures connected with that product bigger than the others. That will be really eye catching and people will be enamored to click on it.
Show the Prices
Most people also make the mistake of hiding the prices of the products they are selling. People want to know how much the things cost before ordering them. Among the most important thing is to write about the product is first, make a good description, then tell people why they just have to have it and make them want it. Also make sure that you place the good reviews under the description, to let people know that your product is great. Then afterwards, attach the price. If you put the price first, and the price is bigger, people will just close the tab and continue browsing. If the price is lower or if you have a huge discount, then you can put the price next to the product.
Numbers!
When you make a new website, conduct surveys, learn what people like about your site and what they don’t like. Don’t just ask your friends and colleagues, ask the people that visit your website. And then put the numbers. For example, 87% of the customers love/approve this product. The new visitors will most likely choose a product that has already been tried by others, other than be the first ones to try the product. Another thing that you need to pay attention to are the A/B testing software with analytics” href=”https://www.convert.com”>analytics. See where your traffic is coming from, and with that information you will know what you need to do to make your site better and attract more customers and visitors.
Heatmaps
With the heatmaps you will learn what people like on your site, what they ignore and what they click and like the most. With that information, you will learn what to remove from your website or what to change. If everyone is ignoring something on your website it means that you don’t need it, and we already mentioned the part where you need to remove everything you don’t need. When you are making a description of your product, you also have to write the good things first and the problems later. If you put the product problems first, it will cause a doubt and people won’t buy it. To view the entire webinar, click here.
