Most athletes are very good at their sport for one reason – practice. In any sport, athletes spend more time honing their skills than actually competing. As online marketers, we shouldn’t be any different. We need to continuously improve our website and marketing strategy in order to compete effectively against any other website. And just like the aforementioned athletes, with practice, we can be the best.

In a podcast hosted by Creative Thirst, we had Bobby Hewitt sharing his insights on how to play the online marketing game. Convert agreed that constantly improving your marketing strategy can be the key in having a very successful online business. If your business does not grow or evolve, then it be almost the same as moving backwards, because you can be sure that your competition will be constantly improving.

Playing Internet Marketing Game

Unceasing Strategy

In order to compete with other websites, every marketer should aspire for continuous improvement in order to achieve better results. Online marketing should be taken seriously. As a business owner, you need to have good strategy and great designs based on how your customers react to your website. As Marketing Donut states,

The Internet has transformed business marketing. No matter what you do, the internet is likely to be at the heart of your marketing strategy. Many other business models are using the internet to promote their business via websites, blogs, email, social media sites like Twitter and networking sites like LinkedIn. What’s more, internet marketing enables you to carry out marketing activities that range from market research to improving customer service.

Internet marketing or online marketing is about promoting products and services to attract sales. It is mainly used combined with the old types of advertising such as media and print. We all know that the market keeps growing day by day, so in order to compete, we need to consider and dedicate ourselves into continuously improving our marketing strategy. This means that you should keep changing and improving your website all the time. Every business should go through this process of constant change to increase conversion.

Play It Smart

You should always see each visitor of your website as a potential customer. Conversion can easily be made if you use the right steps. But you shouldn’t expect an improvement right away. It takes time and patience. This is like a real game, one small mistake and you’re likely to feel the consequences in your bank book.

Do not try to accomplish everything in once, because you’ll only waste your money and your time. So, you have to take things slowly, because if you push yourself too hard, you might come off as too eager and pushy. Following these simple steps can help you refine your strategy,

  • Test your visitors to see their wishes
  • Search for solutions that could bring you positive results
  • Redesign your website if you already know all the metrics and benchmarks from it

You need to understand that to achieve success you must make constant improvements. Your website can really help the visitors find you and know everything about you. This is how you can attract them and convert them into customers.

It is amazing what Internet has done for our marketing opportunities. We need to take advantage of it and use it wisely. Tell your visitors everything about your products and services, give them useful information and tips on how to use them and expect their feedback.
