Our friends over at KISSmetrics have provided us with this great infographic on demystifying the bounce rate. Bounce rates are the rate which visitors enter your website through the landing page, and leave without visiting anything else. Technically, it is the percentage of single-page visits and the measure of visit quality through conversion. In layman’s terms, it is the number of window shoppers that visit your website. They look through the window, but they do not actually get in and buy anything. A high bounce rate means that the site landing page is not working or is irrelevant. What this infographic does is it explains and simplifies bounce rates for us, so we have a better understanding of how it works and how to conquer it.

Aside from teaching us about bounce rates, we can also learn a lot of useful information from this infographic including:

  • The Bounce Rate Equation
  • Bounce Rate by Industry
  • Improving Overall Bounce Rates
  • Tips to Improve Bounce Rates
  • Factors that Affect Bounce Rates
