The people over at KISSmetrics have provided us with this interesting infographic about what makes someone leave a website. The infographic is structured much like a What-not-to-do when creating your website. It illustrates among the most common mistakes that website builders make. But the infographic also offers advice on how to fix these mistakes. While some mistakes may seem trivial, it can be the difference between having a visitor Convert Experiments A/B testing software” href=”https://www.convert.com”>converted into a customer or having that potential customer leave your website just seconds after landing there.

Aside from highlighting what not to do and offering advice, the infographic also provides a unique perspective on how to structure your website to become more user friendly. It features information such as:

  • Boring Content and Design
  • Bad Navigation and placing
  • Ad placement and positioning
  • Bad Content Structure
  • Obtrusive use of Video/Audio
  • Legibility and Frequency

In terms of online marketing, winning or losing a customer is decided in the few seconds that the user enters your website. A quick glance and the customer has already made judgments on your website and has either taken an interest or is put off by subtle elements of our website. It is important to know what these elements are and how you can turn them into your advantage.
